a bit more hue

Everywhere I go and everything I read, it's all about creativity, and more interestingly, about creativity as an expression of the divine. Here are some thoughts I've read this week from other people.

I like this from gapingvoid:
The Hunger will give you everything,
and it will take from you, everything.
It will cost you your life,
and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it.
But knowing this, of course,
is what ultimately sets you free
And a few more words from Hugh extracted from the Hunger (the complete list is at gapingvoid - these are some of my favourites) :
The Hunger to do something creative.

The Hunger to make the most of this utterly brief blip of time Creation has given us.

The Hunger to be part of something bigger than yourself.

The Hunger to feel passion.

The Hunger to know and express Love.

The Hunger to know and express Joy.

The Hunger to channel The Divine.

The Hunger to actually feel alive.
Further down the page Hugh talks about soul and white pebbles as well.

And Elizabeth Gilbert (author of eat pray love) says:
I believe that creativity is a living force that thrums wildly through this world and expresses itself through us. I believe that talent (the force by which ephemeral creativity gets manifested into the physical world through our hands) is a mighty and holy gift. I believe that, if you have a talent (or even if you think you do, or maybe even if you just hope you do), that you should treat that talent with the highest reverence and love.
