Slade Roberson at Shift your Spirits says:
Your creativity is your link to divinity. It continues that idea that we have a huge potential within us to tap into. We each express that potential in unique ways. Maybe that's why we can be so moved by a film or a painting or a piece of music. Because not only does our own creativity connect us to the divine within us but we can connect to something divine created by others. I know when I go to the Art Gallery and stand in front of In Manus Tuas there is something about the painting that moves me to the core. Perhaps it's that something divine.
I've been fascinated by creativity for years. I've looked at the things other people create and wished I could paint or draw or make things the way they do. But that's not my skill. The thing I do is take photographs. It's the one thing I do that absorbs me completely, it takes my whole concentration. It gets me to a point where I'm not aware of what else is going on around me apart from what I'm looking at through the lens. I flow. I'm in the zone. I work at a different level when I reach that point. I've said many times that photography makes my soul sing and I know why now.
Karen Bishop talks about this:
Throughout our lives, many of us have experimented with various interests. One year we may be interested in one thing, and believe that this is what we are here to do, and then suddenly another interest catches our attention and we are off and running in a new direction. This is because we have had so many past lives, and are such old souls, that we have pretty much done it all at one time or another. In this regard, much seems familiar and seems to be a possible fit.I remember years ago hearing a story that made lots of sense to me and has stayed with me ever since. Google refers to it as an old Hindu legend:
Add to this the new levels of creativity we are now embodying. The more energy we embody, the more it needs an outlet, and creativity is a very natural by-product. Most old souls are thus creating many things on a regular basis, and seem to be interested in just about everything! This is because the higher we evolve and the more we are connected to the universal energy, the more energy we run within ourselves. In this way, we are open to much, as we are ourselves a more open channel, and we need that outlet!
There was once a time when all human beings were gods, but they so abused their divinity that Brahma, the chief god, decided to take it away from them and hide it where it could never be found.Whether you believe in God, divinity or creativity, it's within you and bringing that forth will bring you closer to experiencing your soul's purpose.
Where to hide their divinity was the question. So Brahma called a council of the gods to help him decide. 'Let's bury it deep in the earth,' said the gods. But Brahma answered, 'No, that will not do because humans will dig into the earth and find it.' Then the gods said, 'Let's sink it in the deepest ocean.' But Brahma said, 'No, not there, for they will learn to dive into the ocean and will find it.' Then the gods said, 'Let's take it to the top of the highest mountain and hide it there.' But once again Brahma replied, 'No, that will not do either, because they will eventually climb every mountain and once again take up their divinity.' Then the gods gave up and said, 'We do not know where to hide it, because it seems that there is no place on earth or in the sea that human beings will not eventually reach.'
Brahma thought for a long time and then said, 'Here is what we will do. We will hide their divinity deep in the center of their own being, for humans will never think to look for it there.'
All the gods agreed that this was the perfect hiding place, and the deed was done. And since that time humans have been going up and down the earth, digging, diving, climbing and exploring, searching for something already within themselves."
